How often should I have a cholesterol test?

šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ Cholesterol is a key indicator of heart health, but how often should we test and on what factors does it depend? šŸ©ŗā¤ļø

It is very important that the first test is done at a young age, in order to determine the reference value for the doctor.

ā–Ŗ People with an increased risk of heart disease should have the first examination fairly early.

(due to family history or being overweight)

ā–Ŗ People with normal cholesterol should get tested at least every three to five years.

ā–Ŗ Those who have a family history or suffer from hypertension or have been diagnosed with diabetes should repeat the examination on an annual basis.

If high cholesterol is not detected early and not treated, blood circulation is impeded and there is an increased risk of heart attack or stroke.
